Gala prep

We have started creating our magical wands to sell at the Gala on 19 September. We put hot glue onto chopsticks and then painted them. They're looking pretty fantastic!!

20 minute Tuesday

I love how my class loves to read!!! We have "20 minute Tuesday" every Tuesday after lunch where the children get 20 minutes of uninterrupted reading of a chapter book.  By Year 5 one of our reading goals is to be able to read silently for 20 minutes. I think  everyone in our class can confidently check off that goal!!

Cross country

A great day for a run and a wee bit of mud!

Congratulations to Ben for placing third! Well done Ben!!  An added bonus to his win was being congratulated by All Blacks' Keven Meleamu.

We are learning how to write improper fractions as mixed numbers. 

Collaborative problem solving

Today we were put into random groups and given the task to build the tallest free standing structure using only newspaper and 1m of tape. Parinaz, Emily and Jade were the most successful! They spent a lot of time working on the base before building up which proved to be a perfect strategy!
